They are however in scarce supply due to an embargo in the EU against Russian made goods. CZ 455 Synthetic Stainless Now Available

The very popular stainless steel 455 with synthetic black stock is now available again. This design proved immensely popular a number of years ago but has not been available since. A limited number are now available in .17HMR with threaded barrels and a .22 will be in Ireland in 2 - 3 months time.

Remington Shotgun Ammo Returns !

Remington shotgun ammunition has just become available again after the import of a batch by the Irish agent Gowen And Bradshaw in Galway. This ammunition is usually only available once a year prior to 1st November so stock up now before it starts to sell out as it always does. Open Season, Nenagh, (phone 06731774) currently has 32 gram loads in stock along with 42 gram light magnum loads in buck shot, 0 and BB, also 33 gram Foster Slugs and 3" magnum loads.

Savage Rifles Are Back (in black)

The new range of Savage rifles are now available. The most popular models will be the centre fire calibres including a .223 black synthetic. Many of the guns come with a scope included in the price. These models will go up against the Ruger Americans and Marlin rifles already available on the Irish market. Axis ii package rifles ( delivered with Scope fitted ) start at €855 in ..223 and are available in 223/.243/.270/.308. The larger calibres cost slightly more at €925. The 223 is also available in a wooden stock. A stainless barrelled model is also available in.223/.243/22-250.if that was not enough options the Axis is also available in left hand! Fox cull may be needed to save the curlew.

The National Parks and Wildlife Service are to hire a specialist ranger to protect the curlew in bogland areas. It is suggested that gun clubs will play an important role in tackling foxes and magpies. It is estimated there are only 150 breeding pairs left in Ireland at present.
